Hello! Welcome! I'm Marta of martaschmarta, she/her/hers, mom, teacher, evil stepmother, wife, friend, fiber craftsman…craftswoman…maker of handcrafted items and patterns, and throughout it all, a diehard sci-fi/lit/fantasy nerd and lover of coffee.

My love affair with fiber arts began decades ago. Creating designs for hand knitters take hours of work and ingenuity. It's the process and challenge that holds my creative interest. I often will see something in nature, architecture, art, or resources like stitch dictionaries and reference books then let it trigger my imagination into a design idea. My hand knitting patterns are available online at Ravelry and LoveCrafts. I often make things from my own patterns and from other designers I admire. These items are available on Payhip.
